First period flurry gives Morrisville women win on the road

HERSHEY, Pa. – The SUNY Morrisville women's ice hockey team scored three times in the opening period of Sunday afternoon's non-conference outing with Lebanon Valley College, giving the Mustangs a 4-0 shut out victory on the road in Hershey, Pa.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's hockey scored three times in the opening period and added another in the second as they posted a 4-0 non-conference win over host Lebanon Valley College Sunday afternoon on the road in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
  • Morrisville posted their first tally just 1:25 into the game with Allicen Bouchard (Rockford, Ill.) putting the puck away off the feed from Allie Davidson (Niagara Falls, Ont.) and Rhys Brown (Kemptville, Ont.) for the 1-0 lead.
  • Just over 10 minutes later, Morrisville added to their lead with a goal from Brown as Bouchard picked up the assist, before an unassisted score from Kennedy Kirkby (Prescott, Ont.) at 19:02 extended the Mustang advantage to three after the opening frame.
  • Pippy Pritchard (Saskatoon, Sask.) added to the Morrisville total at the 15:41 mark of the second with the fourth Mustang tally, completing the scoring play with assists coming from Hailee Easson (Okotoks, Alta.) and Miranda Bookman (Manlius, N.Y.).
  • Maggie Jones (Marystown, N.L.) earned her first shut out in net on the season with 13 saves across the first two and a half periods of play, before Elizabeth Timby (Getzville, N.Y.) stepped in net for the final 11:30 of the contest to collect one stop.
  • Morrisville outshot Lebanon Valley 44-14 on the afternoon and was a successful 5-for-5 in penalty kill.
 
WHAT'S NEXT:
 
  • Morrisville will next hit the ice on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Utica University against the no. 15 ranked Pioneers (5-1-1), who last was on the ice 10-days ago.
