MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The United East has announced its Volleyball All-Sportsmanship team for the 2022 season, naming SUNY Morrisville's
Marina Megson (Lebanon, Conn.) the representative for the Mustangs.
The All-Sportsmanship Team recognizes student-athletes who epitomize the ideals of sportsmanship and demonstrate fair play, graciousness in victory and respectfulness in defeat.
Each individual was selected by their coach as a representative who embodies the Division III spirit.
Megson played a critical role in the team's success this season. Appearing in 50 sets across the year, her contributions to both the offense and defensive game for the Mustangs guided the team to a 2022 regular season title and tournament title for the United East, while making an appearance in the NCAA tourney.
Megson collected 13 kills, added four aces, an assist, four digs and 23 total blocks to her totals across the season.
"Marina always gives her best at everything she does and does so with respect for all competitors, coaches and anyone involved with the event," said head coach
Fred Wallace. "She 100% exemplifies what a good sportsperson is and this recognition is well deserved."
