MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Mustangs fell behind early, but mounted a comeback in Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) action against SUNY Potsdam on Tuesday afternoon, but they came up just short, falling 4-3.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The visiting SUNY Potsdam Bears picked up two goals in the first period and one early on in the second to take a 3-0 lead over the Mustangs.
- Allie Davidson (Niagara Falls, Ont.) picked up her fifth goal of the season at the 3:21 mark in the second to get Morrisville on the board. Alana Palameta (Windsor, Ont.) and Kendal Kalinowski (Buffalo, N.Y.) picked up the assists.
- However, Potsdam picked up another goal in the 17th minute of the second, making the score 4-1.
- The Mustangs cut the Bears' lead in half with a power play strike from Gwyneth Pritchard (Saskatoon, Sask.) at the 7:20 mark in the third. Defensemen Emma Thompson (Ingleside, Ont.) and Kate Mabey (Guelph, Ont.) were credited with the first and second assists.
- Morrisville continued their comeback late in the 17th minute of action of the third when Kendra Johnston (St. Albert, Alta.) found the back of the net with an unassisted tally to bring the home squad within one.
- Unfortunately, the Mustangs could not find the equalizer and the Bears walked away with the 4-3 conference victory.
NEXT UP FOR THE MUSTANGS
The Mustangs will continue their NEWHL slate with a pair of home contests on Friday and Saturday. SUNY Cortland comes to town on Friday, while Plattsburgh State visit the Mustangs on Saturday. Both games are scheduled for 2 PM.
