MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville head softball coach, Brittany Stroop, announced the hiring of Autumn McLain as assistant coach for the upcoming 2021-22 year.
 
McLain comes to Morrisville after a four-year playing career with United East opponent Wells College, where she was a three-sport student-athlete in soccer, basketball and softball.
 
McLain, who earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a background in criminology, serves as the Aquatics Director at the local Oneida Family YMCA where she oversees daily operations and the facility staff and programs.
 
"I am excited to have Autumn join our staff for the 2021-2022 school year," said Stroop. 
 
"In addition to her softball knowledge, her experiences as a three-sport athlete at Wells will provide our players with a unique perspective of how to be successful both on and off the field.
 
"Coach McLain's main duties will include working with our catchers, overall team defensive strategies, and initial recruiting communication."
 
"I'm excited for the opportunity to have an impact on the athletics as many of my coaches did for me," said McLain.
 
"I look forward to helping the program reach its full potential."
