WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The first 45' minutes of play were an offensive grind for both teams, with Morrisville holding a 12-4 advantage in shots, and a slight edge in corners, 6-4. Neither team registered a goal in the first half, as Hilbert's Logan Peck recorded two saves and Mustang's keeper, Nicholas Beevers (Cobleskill, NY) had three saves in his debut between the pipes.
- Morrisville's offensive blitz started early in the second, with Elie's first goal of the contest coming just over two minutes in to the half, ripping a shot from the far corner of the penalty box to the upper right corner of the goal.
- The Hawks tied the game just over six minutes later, as David Gullo notched his second goal of the season.
- Elie would help the Mustangs take back the lead with three additional unanswered goals, scoring his second goal just outside the penalty box, on a free kick following a handball in the 57' minute of play. His third score was a one-timer, coming from a terrific feed from fellow forward, Justin Klaczko (Syracuse, NY).
