MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville's junior goalkeeper Morgan Dueber (Owego, N.Y.) put together a 20-stop effort Wednesday evening, but host St. Lawrence University was able to sneak six by in the 2021 opener in Canton

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Visiting SUNY Morrisville held the host St. Lawrence Saints to just two scores in the opening half, in part due to play from junior goalkeeper Morgan Dueber (Owego, N.Y.), but were unable to stop the hosts in the second half as they collected the 6-0 season opening win over the Mustangs.
• Dueber collected nine stops in the first half, before adding to her totals in the third with three more. She hit the 20 save mark in the fourth with her eight additional saves.
• Morrisville had its first good look at cage early in the third quarter when Camberly VanValkenburg (Walton, N.Y.) fed Heather Cummings (Akron, N.Y.) on the penalty corner attempt for the chip shot.
• Erika Herrman (Oneida, N.Y.) collected the rebound and chipped one of her own at the net, but the Saint's defense was able to make the save and keep the Mustangs off the board.
• Morrisville had a few more looks at net but were unable to connect.
• Mary Klecha (Greene, N.Y.) registered one defensive save for Morrisville in their efforts.
