Morrisville hunt seat third at IHSA competition

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville hunt team collected a total 28 show points Saturday as they tied for third at the Mustangs home show in their Fearon Road indoor riding arena.

THE BASICS:
  • Team Scores: Skidmore 39, Hartwick 37, SUNY Morrisville 28, Colgate 28, RPI 26, SUNY Cobleskill 22, Keuka 17, Siena 17, Albany 17
  • Location: SUNY Morrisville, Fearon Road Arena, Morrisville, N.Y.
  • High Point Team: Skidmore College
  • Reserve High Point Team: Hartwick College
 
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Host SUNY Morrisville compiled 28 total team points Saturday in their Intercollegiate Horse Show Association competition, finishing tied for third overall as Skidmore collected high point team honors, and Hartwick reserve high point team accolades on the day.
  • Three Mustangs took home winning rides on the day's competition, including Paige Martin (Bakerstown, Pa.) who finished with the blue ribbon in the intermediate fences class.
  • Hallee Glair (Hamburg, N.Y.) also collected a winning ride, topping the field in the advanced walk trot canter class, while Carly Beckwith (Rome, N.Y.) took home the top ride in the beginner walk trot canter class.
  • Martin also finished second overall in the limit equitation on the flat, while Kayla Koval (Sparkill, N.Y.) turned in a second-place finish as well in the intermediate flat class.
  • Deja Auguste (Wyandanch, N.Y.) was second in the advanced walk trot canter class.
  • Other riders that earned top six place finishes for the Mustangs included Airin Rynearson (Deposit, N.Y.) who was third in limit fences and fourth in limit flat, Victoria Lunde (Larchmont, N.Y.) with a fifth-place finish in limit fences and fourth in the flat, and Koval who also collected a sixth-place ride in the limit fences class.
  • Molly Martin-Bauer (Victor, N.Y.) was fourth in her section of the limit equitation over fences class, while Sarah Johnson (Morrisville, N.Y.) put forth a third-place ride in advanced walk trot canter.

  • Morrisville hosts their second of the semester Sunday morning, with competition beginning at 9 a.m.
