CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The Morrisville Mustangs picked up a three set sweep on Thursday night in a Route 20 match up with the Cazenovia Wildcats.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Mustangs and the Wildcats were tight through the first few points of the first set, but Morrisville ultimately pulled away for a big 25-16 first set win.
- Cazenovia jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the second set, but the Mustangs picked up eight straight points to take control of the set. Morrisville continued to tack on points with each held serve, winning 25-15.
- Morrisville asserted themselves early in the third set and did not look back, winning the set 25-11 to complete the three set victory.
- Senior Kirsten Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.) paced the offensive attack with 17 kills.
- Brianna Gates (Eagle, Colo.) also picked up double digit kills on the night with 11. The sophomore was also a key factor for the Morrisville defense, leading the squad with 10 digs.
- Siobhan Moore (Leyden, Mass.) orchestrated the offense, picking up 37 assists. The setter also notched 5 aces on the night.
NEXT UP FOR THE MUSTANGS
Morrisville returns to the court on Saturday for their first United East match ups of the 2021 season. The Mustangs will open with a 12 PM match against the Lancaster Bible College Chargers. The reigning conference champs will then do battle with the Penn State-Abington Lions at 2 PM.
