MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Mohamed Sy (New York, NY) gave the Mustangs an early 1-0 lead in the first half, but two unanswered Canton goals in the second lifted the visiting Roos over SUNY Morrisville men's soccer on Wednesday afternoon in non-league action.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Sy put the Mustangs on the scoreboard first with a goal at 24:17. The Morrisville defense fired the ball up field to Sy, who used his fancy footwork to split two Canton defenders and slice a low shot past the Roos goalkeeper.
- Morrisville took the 1-0 lead into halftime, behind four shots, two of them on goal.
- But it was all Canton in the second half, with the visitors netting the equalizer at 61:35 on a header from senior, Jacob Deuel.
- The Roos would score the game winning goal at 66:15, taking a 2-1 lead with less than twenty-four minutes to play with a goal from Ellis Sanchez.
- The Mustangs had two chances to even the score with less than five minutes to play. Freshman midfielder, Mateo Barahona (Sag Harbor, NY) fired off a shot, grazing the hands of Canton's keeper, Tyler Petersen, and drifting over the post. Less than a minute later, Chandley Elie (Baldwin, NY) had an opportunity of his own, but came up with the same result.
- Shots on goal were even at 6-6, while Canton held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
- Caleb Lucero (Syracuse, NY) finished with four saves, tallying his third appearance in goal for the Mustangs.
