WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Host SUNY Morrisville men's lacrosse dropped their second contest of the season Saturday afternoon as visiting SUNY Oswego fired off eight first quarter scores to take a commanding lead early on and down the Mustangs by a 12-5 final score on Drake Field in Morrisville.
  • Four different Mustangs contributed on the offensive end of the field Saturday, with freshman Evan Kistner (Fulton, N.Y.) leading the hosts with two tallies, including his first collegiate goal midway through the opening quarter.
  • Drew Raggio (Goshen, N.Y.) and Christopher Picciott (Brewerton, N.Y.) each collected their first collegiate goals as well, also assisting another for two points apiece.
  • Joe Rosaschi (Syracuse, N.Y.) rounded out Mustang scoring with a goal and an assist.
  • Brady Ryan (Camillus, N.Y.) recorded the loss for the Mustangs between the pipes, allowing eight scores while stopping three.
  • Pasquale Kourakos (Harrison, N.Y.) played the final three quarters for Morrisville, collecting a total 11 saves.
  • Chad Warren (Lafayette, N.Y.) led the defensive efforts with four caused turnovers for the Mustangs, adding four ground balls, while long stick defenseman Paul Tocci (Riverhead, N.Y.) collected three caused turnovers and a team high six ground ball pick-ups.
  • Oswego posted the first four tallies of the contest before Morrisville was able to get on the board with Picciott's tally off the dish from senior Peter Pina (Culver City, Calif.) midway through the opening quarter, but the visitors added four additional scores to open the contest to an 8-1 advantage after one.
  • The Lakers headed into the locker room with an additional tally to their day, and came out in the third and collected another for the 10-1 lead, before Rosaschi was able to notch his first of the day at the 10:46 mark.
  • Oswego added two additional goals to increase their lead to 10 after three quarters of play, but the Mustangs attempted a late contest rally, rifling off 20 total shots in the final frame alone, and posting three straight goals while keeping the visitors scoreless.
  • Unfortunately the hosts ran out of time and Oswego collected the win.
