Five net double figures as Morrisville men top Berks 90-71

READING, PA – The SUNY Morrisville men's basketball team picked up a 90-71 victory over host Penn St. Berks as five Mustangs collected double-digits in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Five posted double-figures for the visiting Morrisville Mustangs men's basketball as they collected a 90-71 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Saturday afternoon in Reading.
  • Tyrin Miller (White Plains, N.Y.) led the Mustangs with 19 points, adding four rebounds and two blocked shots in the win, while the visitors got a season high 16 points from senior forward Derek Beames (Otego, N.Y.). Beames added seven rebounds, two blocked shots and a team best four assists.
  • Kevin Dennis (Bronx, N.Y.) collected another double-double behind his 14 point-10 rebound performance, while fellow teammate Rahmell Smith (Jamesville, N.Y.) added 13 points.
  • Ishmael Chisholm (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) rounded out the Mustang leaderboard with 11 points, nailing three from beyond the arc.
  • Morrisville controlled play in the paint, outgaining the Nittany Lions 36-27 on the glass, while outscoring Berks 38-18 in play in the paint.
  • The Mustangs raced out to a 49-32 halftime lead behind their 57.6% shooting effort from the floor, including hitting 50% from behind the arc.
  • They maintained their advantage throughout the second half, finishing with a game total 12 three's and 55.4% shooting effort, while limiting the Nittany Lions to 43.8% shooting on the afternoon.

  • Morrisville will return to the court tomorrow, traveling to Penn College to wrap up the weekend action in NEAC play. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. in Williamsport.
