Lakers use strong second wind to top Mustangs

MORRISVILLE, NY – Visiting Oswego State field hockey used a five goal second half to claim their first State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) win of 2019 Wednesday afternoon, topping host Morrisville State by a 6-1 final score on Drake Field in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting Oswego State posed five second half tallies, three alone in the final quarter, as they topped host Morrisville State by a 6-1 SUNYAC final Wednesday afternoon on Drake Field.
  • Annie O'Neill scored twice and assisted another to lead the visiting Lakers, including netting the lone tally in the opening half at the 22:20 mark.
  • Oswego posted two goals within a span of six minutes, including a fast break tally that had O'Neill assisting the score.
  • The Lakers posted back-to-back scores within a span of 40 seconds to open the margin to 5-0 before Morrisville State was able to get on the board with a top on the left post by Rebecca Thomas (Oneida, N.Y.) off the drive from Grace Hanehan (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.).
  • Emily Hunter added one final score for the visitors, securing the 6-1 victory off the clean up tally.
  • Morgan Dueber (Owego, N.Y.) posted the loss in net, despite a 20 save performance.
