MORRISVILLE, NY – The Morrisville State women's soccer team defeated the Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 1-0. The Mustangs have now won three games in a row and sit at 4-3 on the season, including a 2-0 mark in NEAC action, while Cobleskill drops to 1-6 overall, with a 0-2 record in conference play.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Junior forward, Shay Franklin (North Norwich, NY) scored the lone goal of the contest in the 35' of action. Madison Shoemaker (Caledonia, NY) headed the ball off of a Mustang corner kick to a waiting Franklin, who used one touch to find the back of the net. Shoemaker was credited with the assist on the goal.
• Freshman goalkeeper, Meaghan Miller (West Irondequoit, NY) recorded two saves on the afternoon as the Mustang defense limited Cobleskill to just two shots on goal. The win marks Miller's third shutout of the season.
• Morrisville tallied eleven total shots, seven on goal and held a 3-2 advantage in corners kicks.
• Franklin has now scored a goal in the last three consecutive contests for the Mustangs. She leads Morrisville State with six points on the season.

• Morrisville State will resume North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play this Tuesday, when they host Route 20 rival, Cazenovia College. The match is slated to start at 6:00pm.
