MORRISVILLE, NY – The Morrisville State men's soccer team took the field for the first time in 2019 on Friday evening, dropping the first contest of the season to the visiting Lakers of Oswego State by a final score of 1-0.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Oswego scored the lone goal of the game with 11.1 seconds remaining in the first half of play. Sophomore, Slater Bushen posted his first score of the season with the unassisted goal, giving the Lakers the 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
- The Mustangs had several chances to even the score in the second half; in the 8' of play, sophomore forward, Teo Chavez (Bronx, NY) chipped a shot over the Laker goalie, landing just inches wide to the right of the goal.
- Oswego outshot the Mustangs 16-8 for the match, and held a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks on the afternoon.
- Freshman goalkeeper, Tyler Card (McGraw, NY) recorded three saves in his debut in goal for the Mustangs.
WHAT'S NEXT:
- Morrisville State will resume non-conference play on Wednesday, playing host to Ithaca College at 4 p.m. on Drake Field in Morrisville.
