WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • The Mustangs put up the first two tallies in the back half of the first period to take the 2-0 lead.
  • Jestin Somero (New Ipswich, N.H.) notched the first goal at 14:26.  James Boisvert (Mansfield, Tx.) and Aidan Conolly (Rochester, N.Y.) picked up the assists.
  • Just over two minutes later, Jesse Anderson (Wasaga Beach, Ont.) found the back off the net with an assist from Rich Hart (Liverpool, N.Y.)
  • Brockport was able to cut the lead in half just over two minutes after that as they capitalized on a Morrisville slashing penalty to pick up the power play tally.
  • Morrisville went back to work in the second, capitalizing on their own power play opportunity at the 17:16 mark.  Nick DeVito (Averill Park, N.Y.) picked up his fourth goal of the season to give the Mustangs the 3-1 advantage.  Eric Melso (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Somero were credited with the assists.
  • Up by two heading into the third, the Mustangs wasted little time in securing some insurance for the rest of the game as they took advantage of another Golden Eagles penalty.  Melso picked up the tally off of assists from Somero and Boisvert for the 4-1 lead.
  • Morrisville weathered storms late, having to kill off two penalties, one at the 4:07 mark and another at the 14:11 mark to keep the 4-1 win intact.
