WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • Morrisville dominated play in the first, outshooting the Bengals 12-6.
  • The Mustangs were rewarded for their persistence at the 14:55 mark as Kylie Cameron (Burlington, Ont.) notched her third goal of the season to give the Mustangs the 1-0 lead.  Line mates, Mackenzie Lombardi (Hamilton, Ont.) and Maddison Devlin (Campbell River, B.C.) assisted on the play.
  • Morrisville continued their dominance throughout the second, once again outshooting Buffalo State 17-5.  However, the Mustangs were not able to find the back of the net until the back half of the period.
  • Alexziz Giannamore (Pittsburgh, Pa.) put the Mustangs up 2-0, putting away the rebound from Kendra Johnston's (St. Albert, Alta.) initial shot.  Johnston was credited with the assist, her first of the season.
  • Buffalo State turned up the heat in the third, forcing Morrisville into playing two skaters down around the 12 minute mark.  The Mustangs where whistled for an interference penalty on Lombardi, which was quickly followed by a tripping penalty on the Mustangs goal tender, Sissy Harman (Eden, N.Y.).  Due to the call on Harman, a skater was removed to serve the penalty.
  • The Bengals capitalized on the advantage picking up the power play goal to cut the Mustangs lead in half.
  • Morrisville rebounded quickly, capitalizing on their own power play opportunity at the 16:31 mark to retain the two goal lead.  Chyne Kennedy (Southwold, Ont.) ripped her second goal of the season from the point to beat the Bengal's goaltender to the top left corner making the score 3-1 in favor of the Mustangs.  Devlin and Lombardi picked up the assists.
  • Harman recorded 22 saves in the victory.
