Hunt seat rides to reserve team accolades in season opener

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville hunt seat equestrian team opened the 2019 riding season on Saturday at the Hartwick IHSA Intercollegiate Show and returned home with their first reserve team accolades of the young season.

Team Scores: RPI 38 (high point team), Morrisville 34 (reserve high point team), Skidmore 34 (reserve high point team), Oneonta 31, Colgate 30, Hartwick 29, Cobleskill 28, Keuka 25, Albany 19, Siena 18

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

SUNY Morrisville combined for 34 team points to earn reserve team honors on Saturday at Hartwick, as five rode to the top of their class with blue ribbon wins.
Marcus Livermore (Syracuse, N.Y.) captured the first win of the season with a top finish in the open fences class, while finishing second in the open equitation on the flat class.
Lorraine Buser (Oxford, N.Y.) rode to her first blue ribbon of the season, capturing the win in the novice equitation over fences class.
Kayla Koval (Sparkill, N.Y.) was the top winner in the advanced walk trot canter class, with teammate Lindsey Eberlee captured the win in the beginner walk trot canter class.
Carly Beckwith (Rome, N.Y.) captured her first blue of the season with the top ride in the walk trot class.

WHAT'S NEXT:

Morrisville will return to the riding arena on Saturday, traveling to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs.
