WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Morrisville State Women's Volleyball claimed their second straight North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) regular season championship with a road trip sweep over Lancaster Bible College and Gallaudet University on Friday afternoon.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Morrisville dominated in all facets of their first match of the afternoon against Lancaster Bible, producing 41 kills and 14 service aces.
- Megyan Merrill (Millport, N.Y.) led the offensive charge with 17 kills and 4 aces.
- Amelia Baratier (Liverpool, N.Y.) notched 10 kills while adding 3 aces of her own.
- Anna Salamino (Liverpool, N.Y.) also added 4 aces to the Morrisville attack while contributing 8 digs defensively.
- After a convincing first match win, the Mustangs struggled in the first set of their second match against Gallaudet, falling 16-25.
- However, Morrisville rebounded to even the match at one set a piece with a tight 25-23 win in the second set.
- The Mustangs turned the corner late in the third set as Salamino held the Morrisville serve for five straight points to close out the 25-18 third set victory. Salamino finished with 2 aces in the match.
- The Morrisville defense proved to be the difference maker in the fourth set as two solo blocks by Kirsten Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.), a solo block by Jillian Hoffman (Virginia Beach, Va.), and a handful of assisted blocks gave the Mustangs the lift they needed to take the third set 25-21 for the 3-1 match victory.
- Merrill and Baratier once again led the way in kills, tallying 19 and 13 respectively.
- Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) collected 22 digs in the Gallaudet match to go along with two service aces.
WHAT'S NEXT
- The Mustangs return home to wrap up their NEAC slate on Wednesday evening at 7 PM against SUNY Cobleskill. While Morrisville will look to complete an undefeated conference slate on Wednesday, they will also be honoring the program's three seniors: Amelia Baratier, Megyan Merrill, and Sam Wolf.
