MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State Women's Volleyball team returned to the court on Wednesday evening and walked away with a convincing three set victory over Route 20 rival, Cazenovia College in their first North Eastern Athletic Conference match of 2017. 

The Mustangs balanced offensive attacked double up that of the host Wildcats as Morrisville posted 32 kills in three sets of action.  Nine different players posted kills with Amelia Baratier (Liverpool, N.Y.) leading the way with seven.  Kirsten Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.), Megyan Merrill (Millport, N.Y.), and Margaret Kianka (Marcellus, N.Y.) each finished with five. 

Morrisville rotated three different setters into the match.  Kim Dunkleman (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Morgan Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.) dished out 11 assists a piece, while Helena Hanes (Brockport, Pa.) added eight. 

The Mustangs continued to play solid defense both at the net and in their passing game.  K. Florio led the way at the net, posting three solo blocks.  Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) tallied 10 digs, Anna Salamino (Liverpool, N.Y.) picked up 7, while Christina Grippin (Berne, N.Y.) and Baratier each contributed six digs. 

Morrisville will continue part of their conference slate on the road on Saturday when they travel to Penn College for a tri-match.  The Mustangs will take on the Wildcats at 12 PM in their conference match before squaring off with the Cougars from Misericordia University in a non-conference tilt at 2 PM. Morrisville will return home on Friday, September 15 as they host NEAC Pre-Season #1 selection, Gallaudet University at 4 PM followed non-conference opponent, Geneseo at 8 PM.
