Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Four starters posted double figures as host Morrisville State College men's basketball toppled Route 20 Rival Cazenovia College 95-84 Friday night in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action in Morrisville.
With the win, the Mustangs improve to 18-7 overall, 14-3 in NEAC play. Cazenovia drops to 11-13 overall, 9-7 in conference action.
Trent Ward (Auburn, N.Y.) led Morrisville State with 28 points, nailing 7-of-13 from beyond the arc, as he added three steals to his tallies. Senior Ibrahima Toure (Brooklyn, N.Y.) collected the double-double behind his 22 points and 14 rebounds, while teammate Qwuhail Barlow (Cortland, N.Y.) posted 20 to go along with his seven assists on the night.
Senior Joe Hulbert (Duanesburg, N.Y.) rounded out the Mustang leaderboard with 15 points, dishing out six assists.
Cazenovia's Keith Caiello who led all scorers with 30 points on his 10 three's. Will Thompson added 21 points to go along with his 13 rebounds for the double-double, as teammate Avery Wilmore rounded out the Wildcat leaderboard with 21 points, dishing out eight assists on the night, and collecting eight rebounds.
Both teams played to an even first half as they headed into the locker room knotted at 41 apiece before the Mustangs had an offensive burst in the second half, outscoring Cazenovia 54-43 in the second.
Morrisville State shot 52.2% from the floor in the game, including a 58.8% outing in the second. The Mustangs edged Cazenovia 39 to 36 on the boards.
The Mustangs will wait for tournament seeding, announced by the conference office after the conclusion of conference play this weekend.
