Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men's soccer team cruised to a 5-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Friday afternoon, as they picked up their first conference win of the season over visiting Penn College of Technology on Drake Field in Morrisville.
The win is the first for the Mustangs in 2015, as they up their record to 1-2-1 overall, 1-0 in conference play.
Morrisville State dominated from the get-go, holding the significant 34-4 advantage in shots on the day and 15-4 advantage in corner kicks.
The Mustangs got on the board early, netting the first tally just 1:38 into the contest as Jamison McKoy (Bronx, N.Y.) fed Joe Sheehan (Liverpool, N.Y.) on the right wing for the one-touch chip over Wildcat keeper Malcolm Kane.
Sheehan's tally was the lone score of the first half.
Morrisville State maintained their offensive presence in the second half, and collected their second of the contest at the 53' mark as Sheehan sent the corner kick into the box and off the hands of Kane for his second goal of the night.
Morrisville State added another at 64' for a 3-0 lead as McKoy buried the one-timer off the cross post feed from Brian Culkin (West Islip, N.Y.).
After an own goal at the 71' mark, Morrisville State wrapped up all scoring at 73:43 as Mickey Halstrom (Willet, N.Y.) headed the corner kick from Marquis Berry (White Plains, N.Y.) for the fifth and final tally of the night.
Rob Larkin (Clinton, N.Y.) recorded the shutout victory, posting one save in 66 minutes of play before being replaced by Eric Berglund (Elmira, N.Y.) for the final 24. Berglund posted one save.
Kane finished the contest with 12 stops on the day.
Morrisville State returns to the field next Saturday, hosting SUNY Cobleskill at 12 p.m. on Drake Field.
