Head softball coach Brittany Stroop announced this fall the addition of Niagara Falls, N.Y. native, Jennifer Marshall, as assistant coach with the Mustangs program in the Spring 2019, with a concentration on aspects of the game both on and off the field of play.

Marshall will be responsible for coordinating overall recruiting efforts to the softball program, monitoring student-athlete academic performance and coordinating camps and clinics.

On the field, Stroop said she will be involved in every facet of the game, concentrating her efforts on catching, corner infield instruction and hitting.

“Jenn is a great hire for us as we continue to make strides in moving our program forward,” Stroop said.

“She has experience playing several positions at the college level as well as several years as an assistant coach under her belt.  She is a student of the game and is constantly looking into more ways to expand her knowledge.”

“In addition, Jenn’s experience playing and coaching at the Junior College level will be a great asset as we continue to expand our recruiting efforts beyond high school and travel ball players.”

Marshall comes to SUNY Morrisville from Finger Lakes Community College where she served as an assistant coach for the past three seasons, also serving as an athletic administrative intern during the last two.

During her time with the Lakers, Marshall was involved in all aspects of the program, and served as the recruiting coordinator.

Marshall earned her associate in arts degree from Finger Lakes C.C. in 2015 in athletic training before earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management from Brockport in 2018.

In two seasons in the infield with the Lakers, Marshall recorded a .390 batting average in 187 at bats, and collected a total 73 hits, 49 of which were RBI’s. She also served as a representative to the Student-Athlete Advisory Board.

“Jenn has made an immediate impact on our program since being hired in August,” commented Stroop. “She integrated herself into the day-to-day workings within our team and department without skipping a beat.”
