Allison McGuire joins the softball coaching staff as assistant coach for the 2020 spring season.

McGuire replaces Jennifer Marshall, who departed for a position in Iowa at the beginning of January.

The SUNY Morrisville alum returns to the Mustang dugout after coaching stints at both the high school and travel team levels.

McGuire spent a season with Gilboa-Conesville Central as the assisted varsity coach where she carried responsibilities of practice oversight as well as developing individual strategies to assist in individual player success. Under her guidance, the team made an appearance in the Class D Section IV semi-finals.

She also spent some time with the Niskayuna 12U Travel Squad in all facets of the program.

McGuire completed her degree in technology management with a minor in sports management at SUNY Morrisville in December 2018 following an internship with SUNY Cobleskill where she was responsible for coordinating with department personnel for event management and staffing.

While a member of the Mustangs softball squad, McGuire appeared in 105 games as a starting pitcher and first baseman. She made 72 appearances on the mound, starting 55, and set all-time marks in innings pitched at 309.1 and games started. She ranks sixth overall in the record books in earned run average, and is fifth in strikeouts thrown.

For the past four years, McGuire has served as a substitute teacher with the Gilboa-Conesville Central School District and has her New York State High School Coaching license.
