Morrisville State head field hockey coach, Jennifer Koller, recently announced the addition of Holly Heeb to the coaching staff as Assistant Coach for the Spring 2019 season.
Heeb comes to Morrisville State from Hendrix College where she was a two-sport student-athlete, competing in field hockey and women’s lacrosse.
The December 2018 graduate with a degree in psychology was a three-time Regional All-American and four-time First Team All-Southern Athletic Association (SAA) honoree for field hockey, where she served as captain for two seasons.
During her time in the Hendrix uniform, Heeb started in all 47 games at midfield, recording 23 goals and assisting another 18. Three of her tallies were game winners for Hendrix, while she also collected a defensive save.
Heeb, aside from her success within conference play, was also a three-time Longstreth/NFHCA All-Great Lakes All-Region selection, earning first team accolades in both the 2016 and 2017 seasons. She also earned academic honors within the SAA, and was named to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.
Off the playing field, Heeb served as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative, fulfilling the role of President during the 2018 season, where she re-established the NCAA Division III Partnership between the Special Olympics-Arkansas and Hendrix College with annual activities and coordinating volunteer opportunities. Most notably, Heeb organized an annual “Kickin’ it with the Warriors” kickball tournament with Special Olympics during Division III week on campus.
The native of St. Louis, Missouri is the founder of the USA FUNdamental Field Hockey program in Arkansas, creating the grassroots program that introduced the sport of field hockey to children that might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in or be exposed to in Arkansas.
Heeb worked to obtain grant funding for the project and directed the program until her departure from Hendrix College where she passed it down to a current member of the Hendrix team.
Prior to starting the FUNdamental program, Heeb was a PE Specialist and Yoga Specialist at Burr Oak Summer Camp for two years, and served as the Gateway Club Field hockey coach for the past three years.
Heeb will be working with the offensive unit for Morrisville State.
