SUNY Morrisville offers a comprehensive program of on-campus intramural and recreational sports activities throughout the academic year paid for by the Student Activities Fee.
Approximately 12 intramural leagues and many tournaments and events are available for all students, regardless of athletic prowess or residential status.
Intramural activities are organized recreational activities that are fun regardless of your athletic ability. Intramurals are open to all students; women and men, commuters and on-campus residents. Intramurals are a chance to put away the books for a while, get some exercise, socialize, and make new friends.
More than 70 hours of informal open recreation time is scheduled weekly in Hamilton Hall and the Recreation Center. Additional recreational hours are scheduled at the Ice Plex rinks and Fitness Center.

Intramural Leagues & Events
Intramurals and open recreation at SUNY Morrisville provides a comprehensive program that gives students the opportunity to enjoy all levels of organized sports, regardless of athletic ability. Every year students compete in various leagues, tournaments, and open events. Students are provided with equipment and state-of-the-art facilities. It’s a great way to meet people, work out, and have fun!
To continue to offer Intramurals & Open Recreation, it’s important that everyone observes and abides by established policies. These policies are in place to protect the health and safety of the students. As with all events on campus, students are expected to adhere to the student code of conduct in the student handbook. Drugs and alcohol are prohibited at all Intramural & Open Recreation events. Good sportsmanship is essential to the success and enjoyment of the program. Remember, there’s no reason to play so hard where someone gets angry or hurt.
Thank you to all the students that participate and work hard to make Intramurals & Open Recreation a safe and welcoming environment! For more Intramural & Open Rec news and highlights follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
