Early Wildcat strike downs Morrisville women in Sunday action

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's soccer team dropped a one goal decision to visiting SUNY Poly Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the Mustangs tournament, after an early score.

  • Visiting SUNY Poly women's soccer scored in the tenth minute of Sunday afternoon's championship round game at SUNY Morrisville's Mustang Cup, claiming the 1-0 victory on Drake Field in Morrisville.
  • Kara Mertz nailed the one-touch at the top of the box off the center from the left wing at the 9:26 mark.
  • Rylee Unebasami was credited with the centering assist.
  • Morrisville had some good looks on net throughout the contest but was able to break through the goalkeeping of Skylar Blackwell, who collected four saves in the win.
  • Ainslie Romasco (Corapolis, Pa.) recorded seven saves in the efforts in net for the Mustangs.
