Morrisville dominates ESF in non-conference win

Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Host SUNY Morrisville men's soccer poured in three second half scores en route to a 4-0 non-league win over visiting SUNY ESF Friday night on Drake Field in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Sophomore Eamon Griffin (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) gave Morrisville men's soccer the early advantage Friday night over visiting SUNY ESF, and the Mustangs poured in three additional scores in the final 45, collecting a 4-0 non-conference win over the Oaks on Drake Field in Morrisville.
Griffin's tally came just 5:11 into the contest, a header that was placed into the center of the 6-yard box on the corner kick by Steven Montenegro Reales (Yonkers, N.Y.) for the early lead.
Morrisville maintained the one-goal advantage until the 62^nd minute, when Sam Lurvey (Auburn, N.Y.) scored his first collegiate goal off the rebound to give the Mustangs the 2-0 lead.
Djily Niang (Manhattan, N.Y.) was credited with the assist.
Nearly three minutes later freshman Luca Bevil (London, United Kingdom) collected his first collegiate score, burying the outside shot inside the far post off a deep corner pass from Lurvey.
Morrisville put the game out of reach in the 72^nd minute as Dejuan Bailey (Hudson, N.Y.) buried the one-timer from Mohamed Fadl (Monsey, N.Y.), widening the gap to a 4-0 victory.
Jonathan Tolpa (Holland Patent, N.Y.) recorded a second straight win in net behind two saves, while Max Stainforth (Durban KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa) secured the shut out with two saves in the final 19 minutes of play.
ESF's Ben Cashman posted 12 stops in the efforts in net in the loss.

Morrisville will head to Hartwick for a non-league battle on Wednesday.
