MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its Spry Athletes of the Week for women's volleyball, naming SUNY Morrisville's
Isabella Eskierka (Amery, Wisc.) the Player of the Week for action ending September 27.
Eskierka led Morrisville to a 3-0 week in non-conference play, collecting a total 67.5 points behind 62 kills, 23 digs and six total blocks.
The junior collected a match best 24 kills twice on the week, posting the attack number in the 3-1 win over Hartwick and 3-0 win over Lycoming. In the match against Lycoming, Eskierka averaged 8.0 kills per set while hitting a week best .500.
On the week Eskierka hit .378, averaged 6.20 kills per set and 6.8 points per set.
This is the third time Eskierka has been recognized by the league this season or her prowess on the court. The junior leads the SUNYAC in kills with 276 to date, averaging a league best 4.68 per set, while also topping all players in points with 313, a league high 5.3 per set.
