Bard nets two in first half to down Mustangs

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Visting Bard College scored twice in the opening half of Saturday afternoon's non-conference match at SUNY Morrisville, downing the Mustangs 2-0 on Drake Field in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting Bard College scored twice in the opening half of Saturday afternoon's matchup on Drake Field in Morrisville, downing host SUNY Morrisville 2-0 in non-league action.
  • Bard's first strike of the afternoon came just 6:09 into the contest on a well placed corner kick into the six-yard box.
  • Emmett Olson placed the kick on the far post, connecting with Wolfe Ginsberg for the header beating the extended hand of Morrisville goalkeeper Jonathan Tolpa (Holland Patent, N.Y.).
  • Bard added to their lead in the 40th minute, netting their second header of the night as Aren Andrews chipped the long ball from the top right corner outside into the box, connecting with Bennett Hathaway for the score and 2-0 lead.
  • Tolpa had three saves in the loss for the Mustangs.
  • Morrisville outshot Bard 14-10 but were unable to sneak one past Jake Sudit who collected four saves in the win in net for the Raptors.
