MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville athletics department has announced its final weekly award winners of the 2025-26 athletic season, naming softball junior Sara Brefka (East Syracuse, N.Y.) and track and field distance runner Zephrym Grover (Amherst, N.Y.) the Mustangs of the Week for action ending May 3.
 
Brefka contributed to a 2-4 week for the Mustangs in the final week of softball action with her performance at the plate and in the outfield.
 
Across the week, the junior batted .400 as she recorded eight hits, two doubles, while also collecting a total six runs and two RBI's in her appearances at the plate. Aside from her batting totals, she added 11 total put outs and an assist as right fielder.
 
Brefka posted a week best 2-for-3 outing at the plate against Oswego, scoring twice, while batting .667. She followed with a best 2-for-4 outing against Canton where she had two doubles, a stolen base and two runs in the win.
 
Grover earned a wild card slot in the men's 10,000-meter race at the SUNYAC Championships and posted a personal best time in the long-distance affair.
 
The junior dropped more than 72 seconds off his best time posted earlier this season to cross the line in 36:17.05, earning a 16^th overall finish at the league championship event.
