MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville women's lacrosse team hosted the Buffalo State Bengals Tuesday night, resuming a previously suspended contest, but were unable to overcome the deficit as they fell 16-8.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Play resumed with 4:36 remaining in the third quarter after a weather suspension.
• Buffalo closed the quarter strong with two goals to extend their lead 15-6 entering the final frame.
• Morrisville came out aggressive in the fourth, generating multiple free-position chances early in the quarter.
• Samantha Budney (Pine Bush, N.Y.) and Anyssia Ingersoll (Mexico, N.Y.) each found the back of the net to cut the deficit to 15-8.
• The Bengals tallied one more goal late in the game to secure the 16-8 victory.
• Ingersoll led the Mustangs in scoring with six goals while adding two assists.
• Budney tallied two goals to round out the scoring for Morrisville.
• Ingersoll led the defense with six ground balls while goalkeeper Aniyah Smith (Grovetown, Ga.) earned nine saves in the loss.
• Buffalo State's Vanessa Willick led the Bengals' offense with six goals and four assists followed by Kaylee Cadez who finished with five goals.
• Goalkeeper Moira Penot earned the win after saving 11 shots in 60 minutes of action.
