WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Saturday's action was intense as a high-scoring, back and forth first half saw the Mustangs in front 50-47 at the break.
  • Plattsburgh started the second half very strong, outscoring Morrisville 20-12, before the hot three-point shooting from the Mustangs ignited a 20-4 scoring run, making the game 82-71 with eight minutes remaining.
  • Each team was showing incredible fight as action was not slowing down.
  • Four late points from Bruce Wingate (Liverpool, N.Y) gave the Mustangs the 92-91 edge with minutes remaining.
  • A late foul-out on Plattsburgh's Colin Harting would cause the game to go five on four, as the Cardinals didn't have any more players.
  • Quick after, Morrisville's Tyler Cooper (Sterling, N.Y.) hit a go-ahead three to make the game 98-95.
  • A costly foul on the Mustangs sent Reem Welch to the free throw line with 23 seconds left where he converted all three free throws.
  • In heartbreak fashion, a missed layup from Morrisville led to a fast break layup for Welch, giving the Cardinals the 100-98 league win.
  • The Mustangs were led by Jalyn Moorehead (Rochester, N.Y.) who scored 19 points.
  • Wingate was second in scoring with 18 points, adding seven rebounds, while Kaelem Haskins (Liverpool, N.Y.) had a well-rounded game scoring seven points while adding five rebounds and eight assists.
