Morrisville Closes Season With Loss to Cortland

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Mustangs hosted the Cortland Red Dragons Saturday afternoon closing out their 2026 campaign ultimately losing 62-44.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Morrisville battled early, keeping pace through much of the opening quarter before Cortland closed the frame on a late run to take a 19-10 lead after one.
The Red Dragons continued to pressure defensively in the second, converting turnovers into points while limiting the Mustangs' offensive opportunities.
Cortland stretched its advantage to 34-19 at the halftime break behind balanced scoring and strong work in the paint.
The Red Dragons shot efficiently inside and capitalized at the free throw line in the third to widen the gap to 53-29 heading into the final 10 minutes.
Morrisville showed fight in the fourth, trimming the deficit behind transition baskets and a late three-pointer, but the early hole proved too much to overcome as Cortland would ultimately win 62-44.
Morrisville was led in scoring by Abbie Platt (Oneonta, N.Y.) who had 10 points while dishing out five assists and recording six steals.
Cori Vaughn (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored seven points while five other Mustangs finished with more than five points.
Cortland was led by Sam Dembinsky who scored 12 points while grabbing six rebounds.
Brooke Tilotson added 11 points while grabbing seven rebounds and recording four assists.
