Morrisville men resume season action at Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville men's basketball team resumed season action Saturday afternoon on the road at Hamilton College, dropping the non-conference match to the Continentals by a 71-58 final score.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting SUNY Morrisville men's basketball had a slow start to Saturday's non-conference match on the road at Hamilton College, falling behind at the half and were unable to recover as they dropped the 58-71 decision to the hosts to resume season action.
  • Morrisville struggled from the floor in the opening half, shooting just 25% as host Hamilton opened an 18-point gap.
  • The Mustangs attempted to rally in the second, outgaining the hosts 39-34, but the deficit proved too much to overcome come final whistle.
  • Avion Grainger (Syracuse, N.Y.) led the way for Morrisville with 13 points, adding seven rebounds to go along with a pair of steals, blocks and assists.
  • Bruce Wingate (Liverpool, N.Y.) added 12 off the bench as he hit 6-for-9 from the floor, adding three assists to his totals.
  • Jacob Works (Liverpool, N.Y.) collected seven rebounds to go along with seven points, with teammate Sakhi Shury-Muse (Brooklyn, N.Y.) snagging eight rebounds.
  • Matthew Rideout led Hamilton with 23 points, hitting five from long range, while teammate Garret Keyhani added 13 points to contribute to the win.
  • Jalen Reese assisted the Continentals on the glass, snagging 11, as Hamilton held the slim 44-41 advantage.
