GENEVA, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's hockey team fell behind after the first and struggled to recover as host William Smith College netted a 4-1 SUNYAC win over the Mustangs in Geneva Saturday afternoon.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Host William Smith College women's hockey scored twice in the first period ad added two early on in the third leading to a 4-1 SUNYAC win over visiting SUNY Morrisville Saturday afternoon in Geneva.
• The Herons notched their first tally 1:35 into the opening period before adding a second seven minutes later for a 2-0 first period lead.
• After a scoreless second period, William Smith added to their total with two quick scores in the third, the first coming at the 4:40 mark before adding their final, an unassisted tally, at 5:49.
• Morrisville's Lindsey Durant (Bombay, N.Y.) prevented the shut-out for the Mustangs, netting the power play score with just 1.5 seconds remaining on the clock.
• Ella Millar (Fort Erie, Ont.) and Alexa Spiers (Smithtown, N.Y.) were credited with assists.
• Gabi Brazeau (Timmins, Ont.) recorded the loss in net, despite a 28 save effort between the pipes for the Mustangs.
