Morrisville women unable to close gap as Plattsburgh posts 75-66 win

PLATTBSURGH, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's basketball team cut the lead to four in the fourth quarter, but the host Plattsburgh Cardinals maintained the advantage en route to the 75-66 SUNYAC win in Plattsburgh.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's basketball dropped a 75-66 road SUNYAC decision to host Plattsburgh State Friday evening in Plattsburgh.
  • Morrisville led 38-36 at the half before Plattsburgh utilized a 24 point third quarter to claim the 60-54 advantage heading into the final frame.
  • After the Cardinals opened the lead to 10, Morrisville closed the gap to five midway through with a three but were unable to pull any closer as the hosts finished the game with a 7-3 spurt to seal the win.
  • Anyssia Ingersoll (Mexico, N.Y.) led all scorers on the night with 23 points, missing the near double-double as she snagged nine rebounds.
  • Hayley Dawson (Papamoa, New Zealand) added a season high 18, hitting five from beyond the arc, while Abbie Platt (Oneonta, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring leaderboard with 17 points.
  • Platt also dished out six assists to go along with six rebounds, while teammate Celeste Baldwin (Bainbridge, N.Y.) collected a high 11 off the glass.
  • Kayla Johannesen led the hosts with 16 points, while teammate Jaden Wilson put up 12 in the win.
  • Imani Walcott snagged the double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
