BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville volleyball team battled back from a 9-2 deficit in the fifth set of Saturday's match against Hilbert College Saturday, to claim the match win and improve their record to 5-1 to date on the young season.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

The SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball team battled back from a seven point deficit in the fifth set of Saturday's match at Brockport against Hilbert College, posting the come from behind 3-2 match win.
Hilbert jumped out in front in the first set of the day's action, 25-22 before Morrisville reversed the tables in set two to even the match at one with a 25-22 victory in the second.
The Hawks regained the lead in the third set with a 25-22 win, but once again Morrisville battled back in the fourth to even the match and two sets apiece.
Hilbert took a commanding 9-2 lead in the decisive set, but the Mustangs chipped away and made it a 8-12 score later on.
Kayla Sheasby (Hood River, Ore.) served up an ace to ignite the Mustangs late rally, while Isabella Eskierka (Amery, Wisc.) pounded two and Mary Trowbridge (Brookhaven, N.Y.) one to give Morrisville the lead late, 13-12.
A kill from Samantha Mehler (Cumming, Ga.) extended the point lead to two, and with a Hilbert attack error on the ensuing rally Morrisville secured the match win.
Eskierka led Morrisville with 28 kills on the afternoon, with another six coming from Mehler.
Sheasby served up four aces to go along with 25 digs to lead the defensive efforts, with some big stops at the net coming off the blocks of Autumn Dailey (Smyrna, N.Y.) and Eskierka with four apiece.
Kylie Hutchinson (Liberty Hill, Texas) also contributed 15 digs.
Cassandra Bellmore (Windsor, N.Y.) put up 22 assists to go along with 19 from freshman Keely Shearer (Haslet, Texas).
