MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's lacrosse team dropped an 18-3 non-conference decision to visiting Utica University Tuesday afternoon on Drake Field in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Visiting Utica University opened up a 9-1 lead after the first quarter of Tuesday afternoons cross town non-conference action in Morrisville, handing the host SUNY Morrisville Mustangs the 18-3 loss.
• Three different Mustangs posted scores in their efforts, including Anyssia Ingersoll (Mexico, N.Y.) who collected an assisted tally to go along with her goal.
• Utica opened with the first tally of the afternoon, striking a mere 1:03 into the contest, but Morrisville quickly responded with one of their own at the 13:13 mark as Samantha Budney (Pine Bush, N.Y.) collected the unassisted goal.
• Utica rattled off 12 additional scores before Morrisville was able to collect their second, an extra woman score as Ingersoll fed freshman Mikaela Iza (West Babylon, N.Y.) on the crease for her first collegiate goal.
• Ingersoll added the final strike for Morrisville early in the fourth.
• Rebecca Thomas (Marcy, N.Y.) registered four stops in the loss between the pipes for the Mustangs, appearing in the opening half, before being relieved by Aniyah Smith (Grovetown, Ga.) for the second half.
• Smith recorded two saves.
