Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y. – Host Buffalo State women's hockey stunned visiting SUNY Morrisville Saturday afternoon as they scored three unanswered tallies in the fourth period to claim the 4-2 victory in SUNYAC action over the Mustangs.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Host Buffalo State women's hockey captured a 4-2 victory over visiting SUNY Morrisville Saturday afternoon, netting three unanswered tallies, including an empty net score, as the Bengals claimed the SUNYAC win.
• Battling back-and-forth to a scoreless first period, Morrisville senior Kennedy Kirkby (Prescott, Ont.) collected the first goal of the afternoon, collecting the rebound to send the puck over the stick of the Bengals netminder for the first score.
• Within minutes, Buffalo State responded to tie the contest at one, but a power play score, again a rebound tally by Kirkby, gave the Mustangs the 2-1 lead after two periods of action.
• In the third, the Bengals tied the contest at two with an unassisted score at 5:23, before taking the one goal lead late in the period.
• Morrisville pulled netminder Sydney Canham (Rochester, N.Y.) in the final minute of play for the extra skater and an attempt to tie the contest, but a costly turnover in the Mustangs defensive end resulted in an empty net score to put the game away for the hosts.
• Avery Holland (Plattsburgh, N.Y.), Bailey McMaster (Regina, Sask.) and Madison Tomkins (Windsor, Ont.) each earned assists on the afternoon.
• Canham finished with 30 saves on the afternoon.
