CANTON, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville men's hockey team dropped a 9-1 SUNYAC decision to host SUNY Canton Friday night on the road in Canton, falling in league action to the Roos.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Freshman Zach Nicholls (Chestermere, Alta.) scored the lone goal for the visiting SUNY Morrisville Mustangs Friday night, in the league outing on the road at SUNY Canton, as the Roos captured the 9-1 win on their home ice.
• Canton scored twice in the opening period and added a power play score less than a minute into the second to claim a 3-0 lead, before netting a fourth 4:46 in.
• Nicholls put the Mustangs on the board just over a minute later, chipping in the pass on the crease from Wyatt Allan (Capistrano Beach, Calif.) to collect his third score of the season.
• Canton, however, added three more tallies across five minutes of play to post the commanding 7-1 lead after two periods of action.
• The Roos notched two final scores in the third, making it a 9-1 final score.
• Grant Linville (Edmond, Okla.) registered the loss in net, collecting 20 stops in 27 minutes of action, including 17 in the first period.
• Jeff Dreger (Senoia, Ga.) added 15 across the final 32 minutes of play, allowing the final four Roo tallies.
