Morrisville women net road win at Fredonia, 61-56

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's basketball netted a SUNYAC road victory Tuesday evening, defeating host Fredonia State by 61-56 league final in Fredonia with four double-digit performances.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's basketball picked up a 61-56 win over host Fredonia Tuesday evening, as four netted double-digits to contribute to the victory on the road in Fredonia.
  • Morrisville trailed by one, 29-28, at the half, before utilizing a 10-0 run in the third that included three straight three's by Hannah Bonczkowski (Otego, N.Y.) to turn the tables for a five-point visitor lead.
  • Bonczkowski added a fourth three of the quarter with 3:16 to go to kick off a second Mustang spurt, increasing the Morrisville lead to as many as 10 with just under two remaining in the frame.
  • Fredonia was able to cut the lead to four with back-to-back buckets to head into the fourth quarter with a 48-44 Mustang advantage.
  • The hosts tied the contest at 50 early on and both teams exchanged the lead once, but it was layup from Anyssia Ingersoll (Mexico, N.Y.) with 5:26 to go that put the Mustangs ahead by one, fueling a 7-3 finish to capture the win.
  • Bonczkowski finished with a team high 17 points behind her five three-pointers, while Ingersoll added 14 to go along with three assists.
  • Kieonna Christmas (Fultonville, N.Y.) collected 16 points and a team best 14 rebounds for the double-double, also assisting five.
  • Senior Dezia Becker (Endicott, N.Y.) had 12 points, hitting 4-of-6 from long range, while assisting another three.
  • Morrisville was able to limit Fredonia to 32.8% effort in shooting from the floor, while forcing 21 total turnovers.

  • Morrisville returns to their home court for a final weekend stance, hosting New Paltz on Friday night before facing Oneonta on Senior Day Saturday.
