UTICA, N.Y. – Select runners from the SUNY Morrisville track and field teams competed in their first meet of the young 2025-26 indoor season Saturday at the Utica University Holiday Classic held in Utica.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Select runners from the SUNY Morrisville indoor track and field teams competed in their first meet of the young season Saturday at the Utica University Holiday Classic held at the Hutton Sports & Recreation Center.
• Morrisville's Laura Powers (Chittenango, N.Y.) placed fifth overall in the 800 meter run, recording a tome of 2:43.07 in the field of 11 runners.
• Elizabeth Lucason (Camden, N.Y.) recorded her first win of the track season, posting an AARTFC qualifying time in the mile run, topping the field of 19 with her time of 5:16.04, 12 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
• Lucason's time established a new indoor record mark for the Mustangs, besting the prior record by nearly 30 seconds.
• On the men's side, senior Nasir King (Elmira, N.Y.) topped the field of 17 in the 800-meter run, crossing in 2:04.97 to earn the win.
• King also competed in the mile run, finishing 12^th overall with a time of 4:47.13, while Elijah Evelyn (Syracuse, N.Y.) finished 16^th with a time of 4:55.89 in his collegiate debut.
