Ingersoll nets collegiate high to lead Morrisville women

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Junior guard, Anyssia Ingersoll (Mexico, N.Y.), scored a collegiate high 32 points in SUNY Morrisville's efforts against non-conference opponent St. John Fisher University Tuesday evening, leading the Mustangs in the 60-51 loss in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • SUNY Morrisville women's basketball junior guard Anyssia Ingersoll (Mexico, N.Y.) scored a collegiate high 32 points to lead the host Mustang efforts in a non-conference matchup Tuesday evening in Morrisville against visiting St. John Fisher University.
  • Ingersoll hit 5-of-10 from long range for the Mustangs in the 60-51 loss, adding three steals and three rebounds to her totals, while fellow junior Abbie Platt (Oneonta, N.Y.) added a double-double performance.
  • Platt chipped in 12 points adding 11 rebounds, while assisting seven across the contest.
  • Celeste Baldwin (Bainbridge, N.Y.) snagged six rebounds to contribute to the efforts on the glass.
  • Morrisville trailed by nine at the break before visiting St. John Fisher built up a 19-point lead after three quarters of action.
  • Ingersoll posted the first score of the fourth quarter on the fast break, kicking off a 14-2 run by the hosts over the next five minutes to cut the deficit to seven with under three to play.
  • Twelve of those points came from Ingersoll, who hit a three-pointer on the fast break to make it a seven-point game.
  • St. John Fisher added a layup to regain a near double-digit lead and was able to stave off the Mustangs for the final two minutes of the quarter en route to the win.
  • Fisher had three net double digits on the night, including Natalie Mai who led the way with 23 points and seven assists.
  • Presleigh Brunner added 11 to go along with eight rebounds, and Hannah Ferguson wrapped up the leaderboard for the Cardinals with 10 points and 16 rebounds for the double-double.
