MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Host SUNY Morrisville men's ice hockey dropped a 4-0 decision to visiting Alvernia University, after experiencing more than an hour delay due to a power outage on opening night in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• After high winds knocked out power causing more than an hour delay, the SUNY Morrisville men's ice hockey team took the ice for the first time in the 2025-26 season, falling 4-0 to visiting Alvernia University in Morrisville.
• The Wolves put the first on the board 4:34 into the opening period with a shot over the glove of Mustang netminder Will Goumas (Brampton, Ont.) who received the starting nod.
• The visitors maintained the 1-0 lead until the 6:10 mark of the second period, when they cleaned up the loose puck for the two-goal advantage, collecting a second unanswered goal of the period three minutes later with the wrister.
• Alvernia sealed the win with a final score at 7:06 of the third.
• Goumas registered 34 saves in the loss, knocking 15 aside in the second period of action.
