MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball team battled a tough Buffalo State College squad Saturday afternoon but fell short as the visiting Bengals recorded the 3-0 match win on the Mustangs home court in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Host SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball fought through a three-set match with visiting Buffalo State Saturday afternoon but fell in league play as the Bengals posted a 3-0 match win with set scores of 25-21, 26-24, and 25-14.
• Morrisville trailed 11-7 in the opening set before going on a five-point run to take the 12-11 lead midway through.
• Both teams exchanged points and with Morrisville trailing by three late in the set, the Bengals put the game away collecting four of the next six rally points for the 25-21 set win.
• In the second, Morrisville held a late 22-18 lead, but the Bengals rallied for four straight points to tie the contest at 22, later capturing the 26-24 set win with back-to-back Mustang errors.
• Morrisville hung tight with the Bengals for most of the third until a four point stretch by the visitors set the Mustangs back by eight and proved to be difficult to overcome as Buffalo State collected the match win with the 25-14 set advantage.
• Isabella Eskierka (Amery, Wisc.) registered 11 kills int eh loss, adding eight digs and a block to the Mustang efforts.
• Mary Trowbridge (Brookhaven, N.Y.) collected another six kills for Morrisville while teammate Cassandra Bellmore (Windsor, N.Y.) registered five to go along with five assists.
• Kayla Sheasby (Hood River, Ore.) contributed to the Mustang scoring with two service aces, adding a team high 15 digs defensively, while Keely Shearer (Haslet, Texas) put up 15 assists and recorded five digs.
• Buffalo State outgained Morrisville in kills, 37-28, with a team high nine coming from Ella Wittman.
• April Jakubowski had 17 assists for the Bengals, adding 10 digs to her totals.

• Morrisville will be on the road for the next three weekends, beginning with a league battle at New Paltz on October 10.
