Morrisville women drop home SUNYAC outing with Oswego

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Host SUNY Morrisville women's soccer fell to visiting Oswego State Saturday afternoon in SUNYAC play on Drake Field in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Host SUNY Morrisville women's soccer got behind by four scores at the half and were unable to recover as visiting Oswego State netted the 9-3 SUNYAC win Saturday afternoon on Drake Field in Morrisville.
  • Oswego posted an early 2-0 lead just seven minutes in and added another in the 37th minute for the three goal advantage before Morrisville's Ellie Patenaude (Mechanicville, N.Y.) curved the free kick inside the post for the Mustangs first score of the day.
  • Oswego added two more before the half to head into the locker room leading 5-1 and resumed the momentum in the second as they notched three more within 13 minutes of action for a commanding 8-1 advantage.
  • Haylie Buysse (Keene Valley, N.Y.) scored her sixth goal of the season in the 71st minute, burying the feed from Klaire Keppel (Constantia, N.Y.).
  • After Oswego added an unassisted goal in the 74th minute, Callie Lafontaine (Chaumont, N.Y.) notched a third for Morrisville at the 74:26 mark, her fifth of the year.
  • Alyssa Denton (Castle Creek, N.Y.) recorded the loss in net, making 13 saves, as Oswego held a 22-3 advantage in shots on goal across the afternoon.

  • Morrisville will be on the road next Wednesday as they take the pitch at New Paltz in league play.
