Six goal second downs Mustangs at Fredonia

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Host Fredonia State men's hockey collected six second period scores Friday night to down the visiting SUNY Morrisville Mustangs by a 7-3 league final in Fredonia.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Host Fredonia State men's hockey collected a 7-3 SUNYAC win Friday night over visiting SUNY Morrisville, registering a big second period to hand the Mustangs the loss after the early lead.
  • Fredonia notched the first tally of the night three minutes into the opening period, but Morrisville was quick to respond, netting the evening score just over a minute later.
  • Ryan Glazer (Montreal, Que.) put away the Mustangs first goal, a wrister off the feed from Tyler Zembrzycki (East Islip, N.Y.) on the right wing on the break away.
  • Connor Carlile (Southlake, Texas) gave Morrisville the one goal advantage at 14:26, rifling the puck from the blue line into the back of the net off another feed from Zembrzycki.
  • After an evening score by the hosts early in the second, Will Jones (Corbeil, Ont.) intercepted a misplayed puck behind the Fredonia net, and wrapped it around front for the unassisted score, regaining the lead at 3:20.
  • Fredonia notched the equalizer two minutes later and opened the flood gates with four more scores over the course of the period to broaden the gap to 7-3 come period end.
  • Both teams remained scoreless in the third, as Fredonia picked up the 7-3 SUNYAC win.
  • Grant Linville (Edmond, Okla.) recorded the loss between the pipes, registering 20 saves in nearly 31 minutes of action before Will Goumas (Brampton, Ont.) finished out the final 29, recording 21 stops, including 15 in the third period.
