CORTLAND, N.Y. – Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's ice hockey dropped a 2-0 decision in league play Friday afternoon on the road at no. 9 ranked SUNY Cortland at Alumni Arena in Cortland.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Host no. 9 ranked SUNY Cortland scored midway through the first period and added an empty net score late in the third, claiming a 2-0 SUNYAC victory over visiting SUNY Morrisville women's hockey Friday afternoon at Alumni Arena in Cortland.
• Cortland's first period tally came at the 9:48 mark with an unassisted goal by Drew Kopek to give the hosts the 1-0 lead.
• Late in the third, Morrisville pulled goaltender Elizabeth Timby (Getzville, N.Y.) in an attempt to even the score at one with the extra skater, but Cortland put away their second of the afternoon, an empty net tally from Katie Mahoney to seal the win.
• Timby recorded the loss in net, despite a 37 save effort that saw 16 turned aside in the first.
• Molly Goergen registered 21 in the win in net for Cortland.
