Lilleby's record breaking day sends Morrisville running past Knights

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville freshman forward Iyla Lilleby (Medina, N.Y.) scored five times and assisted another to lead the host Mustangs to a 10-0 victory over visiting Southern Virginia College Wednesday afternoon in Morrisville, setting a new single game mark in program history for goals scored.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Host SUNY Morrisville field hockey cruised to a 10-0 victory Wednesday afternoon over visiting Southern Virginia College on Drake Field in Morrisville.
  • Morrisville freshman Iyla Lilleby (Medina, N.Y.) led the Mustangs with 11 points, tying the single game record for points in a single game, while setting a new mark for the most goals collected by a single player with five.
  • Kylee Noyes (Castle Creek, N.Y.) and Jazlyn Leet (Richford, N.Y.) each recorded three assists while netting a goal apiece, tying the single game mark for assists in a contest.
  • Emmaly Noeller (Canastota, N.Y.) and Jillian Buczkowski (Rome, N.Y.) split time in net, Noeller earning the win with two saves in the opening half of action.
  • Buczkowski appeared in the second half.
  • Morrisville's Macie May (Barker, N.Y.) put the Mustangs on the board first, netting the eventual game winner at the 5:08 mark of the opening quarter.
  • Lilleby collected the assist before netting the first of five on the afternoon in the 23rd minute off the assist from Kiersten Bremen (Accord, N.Y.), adding a second at 24:11 to put the Mustangs ahead 3-0.
  • Her third of the night came just after the halftime period, tipping in the initial shot by Noyes, before May added a second score minutes later to give the hosts the 5-0 cushion.
  • Morrisville struck often in the fourth quarter, as Leet chipped in the feed from Melissa Beaver (Granville, N.Y.) at 47:29, before a fourth from Lilleby at 53:48.
  • Noyes added to the Mustang tallies with a drive from the top of the circle off the feed from Leet, before Julie Tomcho (Morrisville, N.Y.) notched one of her own as well.
  • Lilleby posted her fifth of the night 1:25 before the end of the contest, giving Morrisville the double-digit win on their home turf.
