UTICA, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's soccer team dropped their season opener Friday afternoon, falling by a 7-0 final score to host Utica University in Utica.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Host Utica University struck twice in the opening six minutes of Friday's 2024 season kickoff, downing visiting SUNY Morrisville women's soccer by a 7-0 final tally in the Mustangs opener.
• Utica added another strike late in the first half to take the 3-0 lead at the break, before rattling off four more in the second to capture the win.
• Kayle Roberts (Deansboro, N.Y.) got the starting nod in net for the Mustangs, making her collegiate debut as she collected nine saves across 90 minutes of action.
• Morrisville posted three shots on net, but all were turned aside for Pioneer goalkeeper Courtney Connolly to collect the shut out win.
